Options open

To keep your options open means, often, doing things that you might not have considered doing in the past or, in some cases, do things that are sometimes frowned upon by society.

A good example of this is people that declare bankruptcy. Nobody has much of a problem with companies declaring bankruptcy, but when an individual does it, people find it strange. But the truth is, in some cases, it is a necessary event and, more often than not, the best option considering some people’s financial situations. It may ruin your credit report and be, overall, a shameful situation but it is a necessary evil to protect yourself and your family in the long run. 

Another thing that people tend to fear doing is taking legal action against companies. People tend to frown upon people that do this, thanks to the press qualifying our society as a very litigious one. If the fear of society’s opinion isn’t enough to keep people away from often perfectly justified lawsuits, money is. But to counter this there is the no win no fee system. This means that you won’t have to pay any legal fees in the lawsuit, as it will all be covered.
